The International Energy Agency confirmed, at the beginning of the year, that after two years of increase, CO2 emissions linked to the energy use stabilized in the world during the year 2019. CO2 savings reached 33 gigatons worldwide in 2019 despite a global economic growth of around 2.9%.

This stabilization can be explained by the renewable energy’s development, the passing of coal to natural gas and to the increase of nuclear power production in developed economies.
