RBQ sets new standards to improve energy performance

It was at the very beginning of summer that the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec announced the entry in force of new construction standards aimed at improving the energy performance of commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. The construction sector will have a transitional period of 18 months to apply the new measures related to insulation, thermal performance, lighting power and heat recovery.

These new standards will allow businesses and individuals to save $ 20.2M on their annual energy bill by significantly reducing their CO2 emissions, the equivalent of what nearly 18,000 cars can emit per year.
