LED PUBLIC LIGHTING COMPONENT — BUILDINGS PROGRAM

ENDED ON MARCH 31, 2015.

The LED Public Lighting Component encourages municipalities to become more energy conscious by opting for LED public lighting to meet their needs. Using LED lighting technology guarantees energy savings for urban infrastructure. Follow the current and take advantage of our financial support.

WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?

This component applies to existing public spaces.

Providing they meet these criteria, all LED public lighting projects carried out by the following customers are eligible:
  • Municipalities
  • Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ)
  • Government of Canada
Moreover, installations must be located in Québec and connected to:
  • Hydro-Québec’s main grid
  • an off-grid system
  • or a grid belonging to a power redistributor (municipality or other).
To be eligible, products must be included in the DesignLightsTM Consortium qualified products list.
IMPORTANT: Before ordering your products, make sure the measures you are planning are eligible. To find out what measures are eligible, consult the guide for the LED Public Lighting form.

EXISTING FACILITIES

Replacement of a fixture with a high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp and rated power between 70 W and 749 W with a new LED fixture or LED retrofit kit rated 320 W or less. 

HID lamps must be of the following types:
  • High-pressure sodium vapor
  • Mercury vapor
  • Metal halide
